Mixed-reality training for rare high-risk procedures

//

In operational healthcare environments, certain medical procedures are both high-impact and low-frequency. Maintaining proficiency in these complex interventions is challenging, as live training opportunities are limited and patient safety remains paramount.

OUR APPROACH

//

A mixed reality (MR) training application enables nursing staff to safely rehearse a complex medical procedure in a realistic, controlled environment.

By combining physical training setups with interactive virtual overlays, the solution guides trainees step-by-step through the intervention. The application supports various difficulty levels and scenario variations, ensuring trainees remain challenged as their proficiency grows. Multi-user functionality allows instructors to observe sessions in real time, while built-in evaluation modules provide structured feedback after each training cycle. As users are able to see both the virtual layer and the physical environment - including their colleagues - collaboration remains natural and effective, closely mirroring real-life teamwork.
